Anyone who’s currently a college-bound freshman, sophomore,
junior or senior in high school can enter. All you need is a pencil, marker,
crayon or scissors to get started. You don’t need high-tech
design or drawing tools — or even a computer — to enter.
Sketch, clip, draw, paint, collage or digitize to create your own original magazine ad
concept. The deadline is Nov. 15, 2005.
Remember, under the rules of the competition, we’re
not looking for the next Picasso or Disney. Entries will be judged
solely on the creativity of the idea, not the quality of the execution.
So go ahead, get started.
- Review the current "Learn to think" advertising campaign. You’ll need
to create your own original magazine ad concept to fit within this campaign.
- Pick a St. Edward’s course title for your own ad concept.
- Download the required Ad Template, which already has the St.
Edward’s logo in the correct position and size. Note: You
may not alter the logo in any way.
- Choose your image (can be full-color or black-and-white) from
any source (magazines, personal photos, online images, etc.).
Please respect copyrights.
- Write some brief text for the magazine ad concept (as we’ve done
in previous versions) and include it on your entry. Just like a
real magazine ad.
- Be sure to include the "thinking student" in your
ad concept, which can be placed electronically or by hand or re-drawn,
whichever you prefer.
- Create your own original magazine ad concept (using the electronic, manual or freehand
method of your choice) on the Ad Template. All entries must use
the official Ad Template to qualify.
- Include your name, address, phone and e-mail on the Ad Template; that way we can contact you if you win.
Complete the checklist and mail your entry to us
by Nov. 15, 2005.
